“Clown with Red Hat” is an original clown drawing on Center Art Galleries Hawaii stationery signed by the world-famous artist, comedian and philanthropist, Red Skelton. The artist created this delightful clown using prismatic oil pencils, and the head of the clown formed the “R” in the signature of Red Skelton’s name. The drawing has been dedicated by the artist as follows: “To Susan and Harold Dear Hearts Red Skelton” This delightful head of a clown likely represented a person Red knew in the past—or it might have been a self-portrait of the artist with his red hair coming from under a red hat.
