The frame was specially designed by Mr. Skelton using only the finest museum-quality mouldings and liners. This wonderful and happy painting features Mr. Skelton’s most known and loved character, Freddie The Freeloader. Freddie was of humble origins, and he lived in a shack located in a fictional city dump. Freddie was always helping those who were even less fortunate, and Mr. Skelton gave Freddie a beautiful and caring character. Red’s fans will always remember Freddie picking up trash in the dump and fixing old discarded toys so they could be given to children at the local orphanage during the Christmas season. Red’s television Christmas programs caused millions of viewers to shed tears as they observed Freddie doing unbelievable acts of kindness. This unique work of art is quite special as it features Freddie celebrating New Year’s Eve and may be the only original artwork ever created by Red showing Freddie celebrating New Year’s Eve with an open bottle of champagne.
