“Baggy Red Pants and Big Ears” is an original and unique oil painting on board by the hand of Red Skelton. (The painting bears only the initial “R” but a note from Edna Stillwell Skelton (Red Skelton’s wife) confirms that Red Skelton was indeed the artist who painted this unique clown in 1944.)
The painting measures 15.5” x 11.5” and is currently framed in a wood frame (measuring approximately 18” x 14”) likely installed by Red in 1944. The painting is accompanied by a typed note which reads as follows:
