“Easter Egg Hunt” is an original, one-of-a-kind oil painting on canvas, hand-signed by the internationally acclaimed artist, actor, and humanitarian, Red Skelton. This delightful and charming oil painting measures 24” x 18”. It is unframed and was painted circa 1967. This is a very special painting as it was acquired directly from the artist. The owner’s husband worked for the Skelton family. Due ot this very close and personal friendship, Mr. Skelton made it possible for these friends to acquire this important work of art. This work of art reflects a human-like rabbit assembling Easter eggs for the big hunt on Easter Day. Red’s mother taught Red about the importance of Easter in the Skelton home, and the Sunday morning Easter Egg Hunt became a big and important event for Red. The stylized bunny holding the eggs could even be a portrait of Red as the rabbit was dressed in a tuxedo-like jacket with black bow tie.
