“Christmas Clown” is an original, unique, and one-of-a-kind oil painting on board, hand-signed by the artist, actor, and humanitarian, Red Skelton. The painting is dated 1991. This very special painting reflects the artist, Red Skelton, dressed with Christmas stocking hat, for the occasion. The Christmas holiday was always a personal favorite day of celebration for Mr. Skelton as he began preparing for the holiday on December 1 of each year. The painting is actually a self-portrait of Red Skelton which he not only signed and dated, but he wrote at the bottom of the painting “Merry Christmas.” The artist very seldom expressed his personal wishes or feelings on a painting, which makes this work of art very rare. The work of art measures 10” x 8 and is beautifully and professionally framed. The painting is accompanied by a special Certificate of Authenticity by Mrs. Red (Lothian) Skelton, the widow of the artist. In addition, Mrs. Skelton was photographed with the “Christmas Clown” and is shown holding this delightful original painting. Both the Certificate of Authenticity from Mrs. Skelton and the photograph of her holding the painting are included.
