Mr. and Mrs. Red Skelton gave to Kenny Rasmussen a rare vintage watch back in 1950 with the dedication “Kenny Rasmussen, Gratefully, Red Skelton and Edna, 1950”.
Mr. Rasmussen worked for MGM and was responsible for many of the successes enjoyed by Red at the many movie houses which played his 50’s movies. Many of these movies starred Esther Williams, Marge and Gower Champion, and many, many more. Red appeared in over 50 movies for MGM.
This rare watch has a description as follows:
“Vintage Kelbert Swiss 18K three registers, manual wind chronograph circa 1950’s. Featuring a 36mm diameter case with wide bezel, screw down caseback, and oversized chronograph pushers. With original matte silver dial with luminous indexes and hands, silver details, and tachometer scale and oversize chronograph registers. Powered by Landeron 17 jewel manual wind movement.”
This rare watch was given to Mr. Rasmussen in appreciation of his help and assistance in guiding Mr. Skelton to international stardom.
